What's Audrey Saying?

Audrey is a very talkative little girl and the things that come out of her mouth either crack me up or amaze me! They really are little sponges at this age and pick up on everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that you say!

"Darnit!" - Once I dropped something in the kitchen and said "darnit" (luckily it wasn't anything worse than that!), so now if she drops something, she'll say "darnit!" and wait for a reaction.

"Oh Shoot!" - Same story as above, except this time it was Gaga who dropped something and said "oh shoot!" so now Audrey will sometimes say this too.

Counting! - Audrey has been counting for a while now, but this morning when she was just waking up in her crib, I heard her count to 13! What a baby genius!

"How about...?" - when we are trying to get Audrey to tell us what she wants to eat during mealtime, we've always said "how about...peaches?" "how about...cheese?" and then she'll either say yes or no. Well, now the tables have turned and she is telling us what she wants. Tonight at dinner, she said "how about guac?" (she loves guacamole). Too cute!

"I love you!" - We are constantly telling Audrey how much we love her, but she has yet to actually say those words back to us. The other day, she grabbed her stuffed hippo, kissed it on the nose and exclaimed "I love you!" So sweet!

"Feed the baby!" - Audrey has been feeding herself for a while now, so she hasn't needed any help from us. But lately, she's been eating a lot of prunes. She can't always get the last few bites out of the container, so they other day, she handed me the spoon and said "feed the baby."

Mickey Mouse Superfan

Audrey is really obsessed with Mickey Mouse right now. She insists on watching it every day and she can't get enough. She can name every character, and she has even started responding to the TV when Mickey asks questions. Sometimes she'll even join in on the Hot Dog dance. Gaga gave her a stuffed Mickey that I had as a child and she just loves him. I've gotten her a few Mickey shirts and she can't get enough - quite a superfan!

Apple Picking

This weekend we went apple picking with Gaga, Papa, Mandy, Andy, Meredith and Gwendolyn (Dada was working). Growing up, we went almost every year to the apple orchard to pick apples and drink apple cider, so this is a tradition I hope to continue with Audrey. Unforunately, the place we usually went growing up closed (Vaughn's), so we found a new place and it was great! The apples weren't great, but they had tons of animals that Audrey loved! Right when we got there, they let all of the chickens out of the coop to run free and Audrey got to go right up to them - she loved it! We also saw lots of cats, a horse and a couple goats. Audrey was definitely more interested in the animals than the apples. It was a great day!
