Halloween 2013

No surprise that Audrey dressed up as Minnie Mouse for Halloween this year. She loved wearing her costume and has been wearing the ears all the time! The Sunday before Halloween, we went to Aunt Crystal and Uncle Charlie's house to celebrate Scott and Ryan's birthdays, so Audrey took the opportunity to show off her cute outfit. Luckily, cousin Billy also brought his costume, so we got some good shots of them together. On Halloween night, Dada had to work, so Audrey and I handed out candy to a few people before it was bedtime. We'll definitely try trick-or-treating next year!

Conversations with Audrey

Now that Audrey is talking so much, we have mini-conversations that just crack me up. She has the cutest sense of humor, she just keeps me laughing. Here are a few of our recent, more memorable conversations.

Bow Behind the Crib
Audrey usually wears "bows" in her hair to keep it out of her face and during nap time, she always takes them out of her hair and throws them behind the crib. After her nap, I went in to get her and this is what she said...
Audrey: "Mama get the bow!"
Mama: "It's behind the crib, I can't reach it."
Audrey: "Move crib!"
Mama: "Okay." (moves crib, gets the bow)
Audrey: "Good job, Mama!"

Running Around Mama
Before bathtime, Audrey likes to run around in circles in her room. I think she's starting to get sleepy and a little slap-happy. We always ask her if she's being crazy again, so when she does this, she says "crazy again!" So the other day, she was running around me as I was trying to wrangle her into the bath. I was still wearing my dress from work that day.
Audrey (running in circles around me): "Mama dress!"
Mama: "Yes, Mama's still wearing her dress from work today."
Audrey: "Nice!"
Mama: "Thanks baby!"
Audrey: (hugs my leg) "Love Mama's dress!"

Audrey's Car
Last weekend, we went out into the garage to get something and she saw both of our cars. Only one of our cars (dada's card) has a carseat, which of course is the only one that Audrey rides in.
Audrey: (points to my car) "Mama's car!"
Mama: "Yes, that's my car."
Audrey: (points to Dada's car) "Audrey's car!"

See Moon!
Audrey has become obsessed with the Moon a little bit. I think this is because there was recently a Mickey Mouse episode where they all went to the moon to rescue Goofy. Also, a lot of her nursery rhyme stories talk about the moon and have a lot of pictures of the moon. Since she goes to bed so early, she hadn't seen the actual moon, but the other day, you could see the moon in the late afternoon when we were playing in the backyard.
Mama: "Baby, look! It's the moon!"
Audrey: "See moon! See it!"
Mama: "Yes, that's the moon! You've never seen it before."
Audrey: "Mickey up there!"

Last night, we were out late because we went to have dinner at Aunt Crystal's house, so she finally got to the see moon in the dark and it was almost a full moon. She was absolutely mesmorized by it!

Audrey's Boots
Audrey has recently taken an interest in my shoes. If we're up in my room, she always picks out a pair of my shoes and wants to put them on and walk around. I think her favorites are my leopard flats - she has good taste! :-) The other day, some boots I ordered online arrived and I got them from the front porch.
Mama: "Look, Mama got some new boots!"
Audrey: "Audrey's boots!"
She's a shoe girl already!

Second Annual Pumpkin Patch Trip!

This weekend, we took our second annual trip to pick out our pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. We went to Louisberg Cider Mill this year and it was a hit! Big corn maze (which we didn't brave), huge pumpkin patch, lots of animals to see and Audrey's favorite - a giant slide! I bet we went down the slide 20 times. She had a blast and so did we.
