Audrey had her 15 month check-up and they said she looked great! This was the first appointment that she absolutely HATED! Usually, she doesn’t mind the doctor’s office and only cries during the shots. This time, she cried during the weigh in, the length measurement…pretty much the whole time. I hated it just as much as she did, if not more! So here are her official stats for the month:
Weight: 20 lbs. 9.7 oz (16%)
Length: 30 in (35%)
Head: 80%
She changes day to day now and is so curious. Her new favorite thing right now is to point to things and say “that!” She wants to know what everything is. Tonight during dinner she looked out the window the whole time pointing to things and demanding "that!" It's not so much a question as it is a command. She just wants to know what everything is! Guess this is a preview of the “why” stage I’ve heard comes later!
Speaking of dinner, here is a cute picture of her eating. She loves Scott's famous homemade guacamole! She also will only feed herself now and refuses to eat from a spoon, so dinner time is messier than ever! Luckily, we have the dogs to help clean the floor.

Holy Guacamole! |
She’s also running! She’s been walking since early January, but just in the last few weeks she has picked up the pace a bit. She’s getting pretty good at getting around without falling down too much, but she's definitely had her fair share of forehead bruises - poor baby!
She’s added a few new words to her vocabulary including goat, poop, dog, belt, more and go. Her favorite word continues to be “hi”! She says it to anyone she sees and if we’re not paying enough attention to her, she uses it to get our attention. We’ve been going to the park quite a bit lately thanks to this beautiful weather and she loves seeing the kids. And to her, anyone under the age of about 12 is considered a baby – she’ll point and say “baby!” The park is one of her favorite activities now - especially the swing and the slide. She is a little bit cautious, but never afraid of much of anything.
Speaking of little people, her cousin Billy came to visit recently. She was so excited to have a baby in her house...she even rocked him in his car seat! Billy is 13 months younger than Audrey, so it will be so fun when he gets a little older and they can have play dates!
Audrey's other cousins, Meredith and Gwendolyn, also came over to visit this month. Audrey got jealous when Aunt Mandy tried to read her favorite book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?" to Gwendolyn. She just stood next to them and cried, so Aunt Mandy read it to both of them – everybody wins!
Rock the baby...Billy looks a little freaked out! |
Now he's smiling! Too cute! |

As you'll notice from the photos above, Aunt Mandy also has very curly hair. I think she is going to have to give me and eventually Audrey some lessons on how to tame curly hair. The longer it gets, the curlier it gets. Sometimes it's super cute, but sometimes it's truly out of control. She woke up the other morning and it was literally standing straight up! Coincidentally, this is about how Scott's hair looks when he gets out of the shower.
Audrey continues to be a laid back, sweet little girl. She is also starting to show affection, which is so sweet! She’ll give out kisses and hugs - there's nothing better! Now we need to work on the fist bumps!
