Happy birthday, Gus!

Welcome to the world, August "Gus" Graham Lee! He was born on Friday, January 16 2015 at 3:45 p.m. weighing 6 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 in. long. He decided to arrive exactly one week early from his official due date.

I had been working from home a lot in the couple weeks leading up to my due date since I was starting to feel pretty uncomfortable. I went into work the day before he arrived because I had an all-day meeting I wanted to attend. It was a busy day and by the time I got home, I was exhausted and feeling a little strange. I went to bed and woke up at 3:00 feeling weird. I took some Tums (as I often did!) and went back to bed. Around 4:00 a.m., I felt a weird kick, or what I thought was a weird kick. I got up and realized my water had broken!

I called my parents so they could come over to watch Audrey. We got to the hospital around 5:30 and was admitted at about 7:00 a.m. At that point, I wasn't having contractions, so they gave me some Pitocin to get things going. I got the epidural at 11:00 and then things moved pretty slowly until 3:00. I was ready to push at 3:30 and he arrived at 3:45 (just two pushes!)! The first thing the doctor said when he arrived was that his umbilical cord was really big! He was screaming when he arrived and then quickly calmed down when he laid on my chest. So sweet. He was ready to try nursing immediately!

That night, Nana and Papa came to meet Gus. He pretty much slept the entire time we were in the hospital, except when he wanted to try to eat.

The next day was busy with doctors and nurses coming and going. We also had more visitors. Gaga and Papa, Jeannie and Aunt Mandy and Uncle Andy came to visit. Unfortunately, no kids were allowed in the hospital due to cold and flu season, so Audrey and the other kiddos had to wait until later to meet Gus. Audrey was staying with Gaga and Papa and we were able to Skype with Audrey so she could see him, but she didn't get to meet him until we got home on Sunday.

We headed home Sunday morning. Audrey was excited to meet Gus, but she cried every time he did!
Ready to go home - first time in the carseat!

Brother and Sister meet for the first time!

Our family of four!
