Audrey's Favorite Things

Wanted to do a post to capture all of the fun day-to-day things that Audrey does. She is so much fun right now and growing up so fast. Just in the last few weeks she really seems more like a little girl and less like a baby. As you can imagine, it's fun and sad all at the same time. So here are some of the fun things she is doing right now.
  • As she has always been, she is very loving, sweet and affectionate. She loves to take care of her babies and her stuffed animals. She feeds them milk, rocks them in her arms, gives them hugs and kisses. Before I leave for work or put her to bed, she will say "kiss"! She has even started doing this when she leaves from Nana and Papa's and Gaga and Papa's houses. Tonight at dinner, she gave her oatmeal and her green beans a hug. Then in the bathtub, she wanted me to give her rubber duckies a kiss. Too sweet!
  • Rocking Chair! I had a small rocking chair growing up that was still at Gaga and Papa's house. Audrey loved it so much that they let us take it home for Audrey to play with. She loves to rock in it and she also loves to put her babies in it and rock them.
  • Chase! She loves to be chased around the house. She especially loves it when you chase her with her stuffed whale. She'll bring you the whale and say "chase?" She will let you chase her until you're out of breath!
  • Mickey Mouse! We got some Mickey Mouse books from my friend Laura when Audrey was born and she loves reading them. She's recently discovered that there is a TV show called the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Yes, I've caved and let her watch TV, but only in limited amounts and only if it's Mickey or Sesame Street. She just loves it. In fact, I think these were the first two words she put together - Mickey and Mouse.
  • Talking! She is quite the talker these days and has just started putting two words together. She has such a huge vocabulary at this point. I'm amazed at how many new words she says each day. Just the other day, Scott was going through a picture book with her and out of the blue she identified a camel. I thought that was pretty impressive considering she's never seen a camel in real life. The only bad thing about this expansive vocabulary is that she'll repeat almost anything you say, so we have to be careful!
  • Sleeping! This girl still loves to sleep! Luckily, she is down to one nap per day which is usually about 2.5 hours, but she still goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00 and sleeps until about 7:00 a.m.!
